BFU delegates attend the IUFRO 2019 World Congress
BFU News�CIUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) 2019 World Congress was held from 29 September to 5 October 2019 in Curitiba, Brazil. With the theme of “Forest Research and Cooperation for Sustainable Development”, the session this year attracted more than 3000 participants all over the world having had extensive and in-depth discussions on forestry scientific innovations, the latest research findings and trends for the future development. Prof. Luo Youqing, Vice President, led the representative delegates of our university to have participated in the Congress.
During the Congress, the delegates attended quite a few thematic sessions, delivering thematic lectures in terms of forestry cultivation, water and soil conservation, desertification control, informatization construction of forestry Higher Education and had wide-ranging exchanges with the participants from all over the world. The Congress greatly facilitates the international communication of the academic and scientific research of our university, serving as a platform for us to showcase our latest achievements as well as a window to stay up to date on the international scientific frontier through on-site interactions.
Delegates deliver thematic lecture
During the congress, the delegates met with international partners from UNFAO and Coordination Mechanism of Forestry Education in Asian-Pacific Region to explore potential cooperation opportunities and work plan. The meetings further consolidated our partnership and paved the way for the follow-up work.
Delegates of our university have wide-ranging communication with Congress participants
The IUFRO has a session every four or five years, a grand event of the highest level and largest scale in forestry research and academic communication, constructing an all-around platform for the academic research and teaching institutions and individuals in the forestry sector all over the world. Next session of the IUFRO will be held in 2024 in Stockholm in Sweden. (A19)
